About
Who Am I?
My name is Francesca, and I am a dual Political Science and Data Science major studying at the Claremont Colleges in California. My academic and professional work centers on immigration law, refugee policy, and the ways political and legal systems shape lived outcomes for directly impacted communities. My interest in policy and law is rooted not in abstraction, but in firsthand exposure to how inaccessible and punitive these systems can be when you are navigating them without power, resources, or institutional backing.
In college, I have intentionally sought out roles that place me inside the legal and policy spaces my communities are often excluded from. I have worked on case assistance and legal research for immigrant defense efforts, supported SIJS, VAWA, and naturalization petitions, and conducted data analysis on refugee conditions and U.S. foreign policy impacts. Across legal clinics, research positions, and internships, my work has combined case management, statistical analysis, and direct collaboration with attorneys and community partners. I am especially interested in using data not to distance policy from people, but to strengthen accountability to those most affected.
My goal is to pursue a legal and policy career that challenges exclusion from within institutions themselves, translating lived experience, research, and advocacy into material change through law and public policy.
